A Birthday Post

Finally!  A time to blog again! 

Last March 10, I celebrated my 22nd birthday (yep, I'm not hiding the age though it still makes me cringe) with my family. Just had a small dinner at MannHann restaurant and I was extremely blissful because my loved ones were with me on my special day. ^_^ Sooo..a few days before my birthday, I finally bought an IPhone 4S. I'm not really a techie person and I was originally planning to buy an IPod Touch since I need it for my makeup work. I also did not have the enough amount to buy the expensive smart phone. Well, honestly, the real reason was I feel over extravagant about buying expensive stuff for myself most especially when the thought of saving up or paying the bills enter my mind. But my parents, most especially my sister, urged me to buy it since I need it for work and I'm doing a good job helping with our home expenses. Good family is GOOD family. 

Mom lent me money to add to my meager savings.hehe And tadah!! I haz IPhone noooooooooow!! Tootooturroooooot!! 


But what really made me cry was when my birthday came... My boyfriend came to our house really early with no visible gift. Nuninuninu. What?? Where is it?? When finally, he sat me down and explained that he was really planning to surprise me with an IPod Touch but due to my abrupt decision to purchase the IPhone, he was left with no gift. And you know what he did? He went to my mom's room and paid for half of my IPhone.  <--------- This is EXACTLY what I looked like at the time. I cried really hard while I hugged him because although I kept on telling him not to do it, he just softly laughed at me and hugged me back, telling me I deserve all of it. I have the awesomest boyfriend in the world. 

My bestfriend also came and joined the celebration. I really cannot ask for more..

Gifts: Cool pink sneakers from Joshy, Tinkerbell wifebeater and cute tank top from Mommy, tons of ribbons from Mama Jie and brownies from Nila.

Review: Tony Moly Magic Lip Tint

Sorry for abandoning the blog for quite a while. I've been so busy with school that I had zero time to write/type. First of all, happy new year to everyone!! :D 2011 has been a rollercoaster ride for me--many ups and downs in the middle but the extreme peace came at the end. :) Because of this, I am really thankful for God for all the blessings He has given me before the year ended... I will be eternally grateful for everything.

So to open the year, I will be reviewing about Tony Moly's Magic Lip Tint.

Strawberry Tint; Other two tints are Green Apple and Grape. :) This is by far, the lightest.

                              Yes, it's transparent!! That got me the first time I laid eyes on it.haha

The saleslady was bragging that Geum Jan Di used this makeup for the Boys Over Flowers K-Drama.

                               
I'm not really a fan of berry-colored tints because dark color tends to make me look mean. -.-
I originally looked for an apricot/orangey shade of lip and cheek tint because being a teacher means you only have minimal makeup and retouch time and in times like that, a lip and cheek tint is your best bet.
I went to Etude House first to see if their Miss Tangerine line carried such product. Yes they did but only separately--a lip tint and a cheek stain. :( They had the pink lip and cheek tint but it was too runny and the color doesn't really show that much so I decided to buy other things but I left with a heavy heart.

I'm not really a big fan of Tony Moly but since I'm already in the mall, I decided to drop by their store just for the heck of it.

Hearing what I wanted, the saleslady told me they do not have light shades for tints but showed me the Magic Tint, which is, apparently, their bestseller. True to that, my mom and sister tried buying the tint a few days after I showed them and it was sold out. They were able to get hold of it a week after. Oh, I use it as cheek and lip tint BTW! ~

REVIEW:
Pros~

• It is cheap at P198.00 and may be used for a while since a small amount gives you a lot of color.
• It stays for hours--both for cheeks and lips.
• Packaging is cute, handy and sophisticated. :)
• Very best is that it looks so natural!! Not overpowering at all. 

Cons~

• It can be a BIT sticky on cheeks but patting some powder does the trick. So, almost no con at all.haha!

Wanna see my face without powder?hahahaha!

For weeks I've been using only this and liquid eyeliner for my daily makeup. No fuss for Teacher Shiu! ^_^

Maybelline Clear Smooth All In One Shine Free Cake Powder

The other day, mom (Mommy Rhea) accompanied me to the mall 'cause I needed to buy some makeup for work. So we decided to visit SM Fairview since it's very near our home. Anyhoots, since I wanted the trip to be quick, I decided to shop in Watson's. :P

Note: If you are a lazy makeup shopper or if you need to have a wide variety of choices, Watson's is the place to go. :) They have both local and foreign brands so you have a lot of options. Also, what I definitely love about Watson's is that they have lots of promos! Just like now, they are giving away these cute makeup bags for every purchase of PhP1,000. Mom got the green while I took home a pink. :D

Going back, so I bought a lot of stuff including a gold gel eyemakeup (I can sense an SNSD's The Boys MV tutorial nearing...LOL) which was on sale for, gasp!!, PhP45!!!hahahaha Cool huh? Fashion 21, you will forever be in my heart!

Mom went to the Maybelline counter and scoured the cake powder. I have always wanted to get this gorgeously pink compact but I was too kuripot since I am deeply in love with my Fashion21 Milk Powder and I have just bought its refill. 
So being the good mom that she is, she bought one for me and my sister! Thanks, moooom!

I picked 02 Nude Beige. :)

Maybelline says:

• Its got shine control, high UV protection, offers instant fairness and visibly smooth complexion, blends away dark spots, conceals blemishes and pores and is tone perfecting and long lasting.

My take on the product:

• Yes, it does have high shine control. However, it weakens with sweat. :( A really humid day can get this looking like baby powder. :P
• I have always loved products with UV protection because I burn easily. :( So, almost all of my skin products got UV protection. So it's always a plus on my book.
• Instant fairness, hmmm yes, on the parts that have discoloration. But it fits my complexion to a T so the fairness factor, I'm not sure with me. It just blends with my skin tone.haha
• As for the dark spots, yes it does cover them pretty good, actually! I got broken capillaries on my cheeks and it was camouflaged. :)
• Long lasting? See shine control above.
• Smooth complexion, yes. It gives you a natural look and it is very lightweight. No gunky makeup feeling. It's breathable too. Also gives pores the minimized effect which is always good. :)

The packaging is the ultimate reason of why I wanted this.haha I did not even tried it on! I was just fixated on it as soon as a watched its TV commercial.hehe 

Judging from my comments above, it's clear that I am smitten with this baby. I just have a bit of a problem with it...

Its got these effing holes underneath!! Huhu Mom was disappointed about this too for it is unhygienic and may cause trouble for your bag if powder suddenly cracks. :( Why oh why did they not just put the sticker on the holes, right?? Weird. If they have another purpose for this, please do enlighten me.
